February Newsletter

Hello once again! From all of us behind KuroNekoCon, we hope that your year is the best it can be so far. This month, we have some exciting things to tell you about. From chess to prom, there’s so much happening that we’re excited to share.

On March 9th, 2012, at Spokane Falls Community College, we’re holding our first match of cosplay chess for the year. The theme of the night will be Cosplay vs. Zombies. Beginning at 5pm that night, we’ll crowd around to see how the event unfolds! The event is free and we're taking donations to go toward a brand new chess board! We’ll begin seating at 4:45 pm.

This year, our annual fashion show and dance party will be at 6 pm on April 27th. Spokane Falls Community College is hosting this event once again, and it is sponsored by Spokane’s Japan Week. By participating, you’ll have the chance to show off your best costume, and compete for the chance to win a unique prize. Tickets will be $5 each. Keep your eye out as more information is revealed.

On top of all of these wonderful things, we would like to cordially invite you to a night of music and dancing at the first ever Otaku Prom. On March 31, 2012, join us at the Spokane Kendo Club located at 829 W. Broadway Ave., Spokane, WA 99201 in you best cosplay or formal wear to celebrate YOU! Tickets are $5 each, and will be available in the near future. More information will be available soon.

After a long time waiting, we finally have our website up and running. On our website, you can look at our upcoming events, sign up to be a volunteer, artist, maid, or vendor. We'll have all kinds of news for the convention, and we even have a brand new forum to go along with it. You can find our website at http://kuronekocon.com/

Currently, you may have noticed, we’re in the process of giving a name to our own Otaku Cat. If you would like to give your input, you can vote here.

Recently, we've decided to make a blog dedicated to KuroNekoCon! It's available for you to interact with us in a way you haven't been able to before. We'll be answering and posting an array of KuroNekoCon related things. You can find it here!

We’d like to thank you all for helping to make KuroNekoCon the success that it’s been and for helping it to grow as it has. We would like to thank our sponsors for being totally awesome: Cassano’s Italian Grocery in Spokane, WA at Mission and Napa, Gaia Online, Japan Week, and the Comic Book Shop. They’ve been great to work with, and play another important role in making this convention happen.

Join us August 4th & 5th at Spokane Falls Community College for KuroNekoCon 2012
